Bred to independently protect and herd sheep in France, the incredibly intelligent Beauceron is a commanding breed. It features unique coloring and markings, an alert expression, upright ears sometimes cropped short, athleticism, protectiveness, and intelligence channeled into work. Confident Beaucerons require extensive socialization, leadership, and regular activity with their family to feel fulfilled. Grooming is easily accomplished by regular brushing sessions and the occasional bath.
