Bred for big game hunting in Argentina’s vast plains, the powerful Dogo Argentino has a smooth short coat, alert expression conveying courage and willingness for work, strong prey drive requiring supervision and socialization around small pets, affection toward family combined with wariness of strangers, high energy and exercise needs, and resolute determination applied to tasks. Not the breed for the average family, this breed thrives in an experienced home ready to provide the Dogo with the physical and mental activities, and strong leadership skills.
