Elegant, outgoing hunters named after the Duke of Gordon surrounding his castle in rugged Scottish Highlands moors where the gun dogs energetically locate and point upland gamebirds for hunting parties then transform into gracious companions relaxing once home enjoying brisk walks and activities engaging their intelligence when not proudly prancing about showing off their shining black coats with tan markings. The largest of the Setters, the Gordon is stoic and gentle with family and friends, but does need regular exercise and positive reinforcement training and socialization to thrive. The thick coat does shed moderately and the beautiful feathering need consistent brushing, along with the occasional bath to be happy.
