Leveraging its superior scenting ability and instinctual hunting drive for locating fowl, the energetic medium sized Pointer assumes a distinctive frozen stance, signaling the hiding locations of quarry in nearby brush to his owner. Communicating satisfaction through wagging tails and bright eyes the Pointer is an excellent companion in the field and in the home. The Pointer’s innate requirements are met by having an ample fenced outdoor space daily, providing sufficient stretching room for free romping, along with mental stimulation like puzzle games in order to settle in the house for some enjoyable cuddles on the couch. Without this, negative behaviors may emerge indoors. Shedding is minimal and grooming this short coated dog is easily accomplished with brush and an occasional bath. Ready for a swim in the backyard pool or at the beach, this breed excels in all outdoorsy activities as long as he is with his well loved family.
