Renowned for fiercely guarding family estates and appearing in Roman arenas battling chained lions and gladiators, the huge, muscular Neapolitan Mastiff is characterized by loose folds and wrinkles, along with droopy lips and cheeks surrounding a stocky frame, and the always present drool. Its intimidating presence and fearlessness are applied judiciously in defending trusted owners. The Neapolitan Mastiff relaxes once appeased through moderate daily walks, proper socialization, and regular training sessions. They excel being devoted protective companions and do well in a home that provides the space and the financial responsibility that goes with feeding this large dog. This breed does best in a dog savvy and protective breed experienced home with a strong leader ready to provide a good home.
